Canada's Most Authentic Tribute To Pink Floyd

 Hey you....
Well, it's a bit slow off the presses, but welcome to the second edition of The Factory.  Lots to tell you about, and we hope this finds you comfortable these days, if not numb.  The big Pink Floyd news of late is that EMI is re-releasing their entire discography on a massive 17 disc set, just in time for Christmas (go figure, eh?).  Unfortunately, there is no new material, mixes, or artwork to look forward to here, but it's a nice package for those who don't already own all the albums.  There is also word of an upcoming David Gilmour stuidio album in 2008, but we'll have to see.  In the meantime, Gilmour's "Remember That Night" concert DVD is well worth checking out. So what's new with Floyd Factor?...

Floyd Factor Welcomes Drummer Tony Furtado:
Floyd Factor is happy to announce the addition of drummer Tony Furtado to the Floyd Factor family! Drummer, producer, engineer, and semi-legendary Hamilton native, Tony filled in on drums for the band this past summer and did a great job, and we are pleased to be welcoming him to the band full-time. Tony is also proprietor of Jamhouse Music Studios in Hamilton, which is a well recognized fixture on the Hamilton music scene.  And one look at his drumkit will tell you how he feels about Pink Floyd...  It is with sadness that we say a grateful farwell to original drummer Frank Peluso, as he embarks onto new horizons.  Frank is an exceptional performer and artist, and we know he will continue to be successful in his new endeavours.  Shine on, Frank!
      Floyd Factor on YouTube.com:
If you missed some of the band's recent shows in Hamilton & Montreal (ah Montreal, where we celebrated the band's first anniversary with an awesome audience), then you can check out the highlights on YouTube anytime.  Just visit our YouTube channel at:  www.youtube.com/floydfactor  and see how far the band has come in the past year.  And what a trip it's been.....

Floyd Factor Returns To Hamilton Place:
Back by popular demand, so they tell us, the band is tickled pink (ahem...) to be returning to the friendly confines of the Hamilton Place Studio Theatre on Fri. Jan. 18th, with a bolstered production and new material. It's such a great place, and we're very glad that Jamhouse Studios is once again presenting the show at this intimate & venerable venue.  Don't miss this musical communion - tickets onsale next week at www.ticketmaster.ca or the Copps Coliseum box office.  More info at www.floydfactor.com

Catch Chloe Watkinson & The Crossroads:
Since there aren't any Floyd Factor fans that aren't Chloe Watkinson fans too, we thought we'd let you know about one of Chloe's solo projects that's hitting the stage with some amazing roots music.  Coming to you on the second Wednesday of every month at the legendary downtown institution Grossman's Tavern, The Crossroads will do some of the songs you've always loved, from Aretha Franklin to Elmore James, and some you may never have heard from Betty Harris to Marilyn Barbarin. And you can be assured of some quality music.  Next show Dec. 12th!
Special Early All-Ages Show Fri. Dec. 8th at THE HYPE in Brampton:

We know it's busy during the run up to the Holidays, and that's why we've worked out the band's first ever early all-ages show on Sat. Dec. 8th at THE HYPE club in Brampton.  With special guests Frankie Whyte & the Dead Idols, and 40 Sons & Daughters.  Show starts at 4pm and wraps before 9, leaving you the rest of your Saturday night.  Full two set Factor show, and licensed for 19+, but all ages are welcome!  If you haven't seen The Hype, it's an awesome music-first club, and we're pulling all the stops out on this one - so please join us for a Pink Christmas in Brampton, and give your ears a break from those incessant carols playing everywhere!  More info at:  http://www.floydfactor.com/component/option,com_gigcal/Itemid,42/

And on behalf of everyone in the project, we'd like wish you and yours the very best this holiday season.  Deck the lunatic in the hall with boughs of holly.....
